2010 Jaguar XJL Supercharged Neiman Marcus Edition

For the third straight year, Neiman Marcus will feature a limited edition 2010 Jaguar XJL Supercharged Neiman Marcus Edition on their upcoming Christmas Book. From what we’ve heard, the department store chain has about 50 of these limited ed cars for sale to those who may want to spend their entire Christmas bonus – perhaps even more than that – on a 5.0-liter V8 Jaguar XJ.

The limited-stock XJL comes with, among other things, a special plate with “Neiman Marcus 1 of 50” etched on it. In addition to that, the car has been painted with a Celestial Black color to match those 20-inch double-10 spoke wheels.

To make things more interesting, anybody who purchases on of these limited edition Jaguar XJs will become one of a handful of owners who’d have the new 2010 XJ in their garage because Jaguar will only release the standard version sometime next year. So if you can’t wait for those to be released, you might want to give Neiman Marcus a call at 1-866-524-6963. The store will only accept orders starting at 12 pm EST on October 16.

etrolheads around the World get ready for the “Made in China” tag on your beloved Hummers. The loss making unit of Hummer [due to poor sales and over cautious US govt policies on bailouts, and economic downturn] Hummer brand has been sold to an unheard of Chinese firm Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Corp. and a private investor Suolang Duoji from Hong Kong. The Chinese firm will have 80% stake in the deal and rest 20% with the lone investor. the deal is around US$ 150 million.

As part of the deal the Hummer brand will be sold, with it dealer network, but the new conglomerate will retain the existing management and the manufacturing location(s) will remain on mainland US. So guess not exactly “Made in China” but “Assembled in US” tag might sound appropriate. Anyways whats sad is that the monstrosity will be on roads for some more time.

Italdesign Giugiaro

Italdesign Giugiaro will reveal its latest concept of a speedy but fuel-efficient hybrid car at the Geneva motor show.

Italdesign-Giugiaro S.p.a , commonly called Italdesign, is a famous automobile designer and is a highly-specialized engineering company that is located in Turin, Italy.

It was founded in the year 1968 with its first name as Studi Italiani Realizzazione Prototipi S.p.A that worked in collaboration with the Volkswagen. At present, the company is recognized for the famous works of its subordinate, the Giugiaro Design, the home of the renowned car designer Giorgetto Guigiaro.

Today, with their innovative concept, Italdesign revealed that the hybrid coupe is a two-seater and can achieve a top speed on the road at 186 miles per hour, or 300 kilometers per hour. It can also be accelerated from an amazing zero to 62 miles per hour in less than 4 seconds.

Italdesign remained the concept anonymous until the Geneva motor show. As mentioned, the car manufacturer guarantees a fast and furious design on the coupe, but will be an ideal partner for fuel efficiency. The unnamed car can travel 117 miles per hour on a gallon of gasoline.

If you are interested with the car’s technical information, as to engine configuration and other revving mechanisms, you have to wait for its launching on Geneva.

According also to Italdesign, this coupe is shaped like a wedge, and is wrapped fully with aluminum and carbon, with its chassis covered with carbon fiber.
